Celebrating Mother’s Day While Social Distancing

Mother (muth-er) (noun): The most amazing woman, who loves unconditionally. A person who inspires, heals and is the maker and keeper of memories.

Whether you are a Mom with kids at home, live in the same household as your Mom or won’t be able to spend Mother’s Day with your Mom this year, you can still make it a memorable day filled with love and creativity. Even though most traditional Mother’s Day celebrations will be put aside this year, make it a day that every Mom (including yourself if you are one) deserves.

Whether it’s easy-to-make brunch recipes, Mother’s Day cards that you can print at home to mail out or send via email, to custom backgrounds for your virtual party, we have it all! If you’re unable to celebrate Mother’s Day in-person with your kids or Mom, then we highly recommend hosting a virtual party with the family over a video call! We put together a Virtual Mother’s Day Party Kit that you can easily download and email to invitees, which includes party and recipe details for those that will be joining in on the celebration.

For your virtual party, if you plan to use a video conferencing platform like Zoom, then look no further for custom backgrounds! We cooked up designs for you to choose from to brighten up your background during the virtual Mother’s Day celebration. You are probably wondering, why am I being asked to choose from backgrounds that are backwards? It’s because when you go on a video conferencing application like Zoom, it reverses the image because of the self-facing webcam. It might look backwards here, but it won’t be when you’re live in the virtual celebration!

To use one of our backgrounds, follow the below directions:

Step 1: Right click the image that you want and save it.

Step 2: Log in to your video conference account.

Step 3: Go to your account settings.

Step 4: Navigate to the virtual background option and select the background you saved.

Before we dive into our delicious recipes, let’s continue to get creative. We know that picking out the perfect Mother’s Day card is something that has always been special to a lot of people. Since that’s not possible for many this year with social distancing regulations, we created cards that you can either print right at home and mail out, or simply email. If you’re planning on printing them to give or mail, write your message on the back. If you’re sending it via an email, then be sure to write your personal message right in the body of the email or text message that the card attachment is sent in.

TIPS: Emailing or texting the card(s) with a custom message attached? Then just right click the image(s) and save. Printing the card(s)? Click on the clickable link options right atop each of the corresponding cards, which will allow you to download and print!
