Also known as dalgona coffee, whipped coffee is a frothy coffee drink which has become the latest craze and for good reason. All it takes is instant coffee, sugar, water and milk to whip up this creamy, delicious beverage.
Not only are we going to teach you how to make whipped coffee with flavored instant coffee, but you will also learn how to make different flavors from scratch!
The key to making whipped coffee is instant coffee. Keep in mind that instant espresso won’t work. A delicious hack of ours is to use flavored instant coffee already available in stores, like hazelnut instant coffee. If you opt to use regular instant coffee, you can always use chocolate milk in lieu of plain milk to add a delicious twist.
Whipped Instant Coffee
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons instant coffee (or flavored instant coffee)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- 1 1/2 cups milk (or chocolate milk)
Preparation
- In a bowl, mix the instant coffee, sugar and water with a hand mixer for a few minutes until the coffee comes to a whipped consistency.
- Pour the milk into a mason jar or glass and top it off with the whipped coffee. Mix and drink!
Flavored Whipped Coffee
You can jazz up your whipped coffee with vanilla extract or unsweetened cocoa for a vanilla or mocha flavor!

- 1/4 tablespoon vanilla extract (for vanilla flavored whipped coffee only)
- 1/2 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder (for mocha flavored whipped coffee only)
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1 1/2 cups milk (or chocolate milk)
Preparation
- In a bowl, mix the instant coffee, sugar, water and custom flavor ingredients if desired with a hand mixer for a few minutes until the coffee comes to a whipped consistency.
- Pour the milk into a glass with ice and top it off with the whipped coffee. Mix and drink!
