If you are planning on cooking a delicious yet easy-to-make feast for Christmas this year, our checklist of recipes will surely satisfy everyone’s taste buds.
We highly recommend setting the table before any of the cooking begins. Tablescaping, also known as table-setting, will upgrade a traditional table from ordinary to extraordinary! A few items that we love to add to our table during Christmas to give it a simple yet elegant aesthetic are cranberries and mistletoe throughout the center. A tip to keep in mind is that they don’t have to be real. If you have fake leaves, mistletoe and cranberries in Christmas décor at home, save some of it for your tablescape. Have pinecones? Add some of them across the center of your table as well!
Pinecones are also great to use for individual place settings. Add a pinecone to each place setting and on cardstock paper cut into small pieces, write the names of family members on each card. Then simple insert the card right into the cone, using the cone as the place-card holder to create a personalized table seating. You can also add some bells or rosemary to each place setting to add a festive touch.
CHRISTMAS DINNER MENU
Now, let’s move on to everyone’s favorite part of Christmas dinner, the food!
We always love to pre-game for dinner with appetizers. Our baked brie wreath is a delicious as it looks, as the perfect edible centerpiece to a holiday feast.
When it comes to the main course, our maple-bourbon glazed ham is filled with savory and sweet notes that will have everyone digging in for seconds!
If you are looking for a vegetarian option for your main dish our Spinach, Cauliflower, and Ricotta Stuffed Shells are a delicious alternative.
Most will agree that it’s not a full feast without delicious sides. Two of our favorite side dishes with a twist are mashed sweet potatoes with feta and cranberries, and asparagus with hollandaise sauce.
Last, but not least, the grand finale of any great meal is dessert! Our salted caramel panna cotta and chocolate mascarpone mousse are both a go-to for us to make for small scale family gatherings since they can be made and served in individualized portions. Both of these desserts will also be an ultimate hit with adults and kids.
