Easy Lunch Prep for Family Members on the Front Lines

The team at Savor is incredibly grateful to all of the essential workers who are helping us throughout this trying time. From the first responders and healthcare workers to the retail teams and shipping industry personnel, we appreciate all that you do.

We’ve rounded up easy bento box lunches to pack for the essential worker in your life, or to prep for yourself and your family so you have one less thing to worry about.

We’ve used bento boxes from Planet Box that we had on-hand, but the meals can easily be replicated with takeout plastic containers and cupcake liners. The lunches were made with readily available ingredients at our local grocery store, but ingredients can be swapped based on what you have available at your local retailer.

On a Roll

Ham and Cheese Rolls Bento Box

This lunch took less than 5 minutes to make and the complementary tastes and textures were a hit with our testers.

Ingredients

• 1 cup cottage cheese
• 2 strawberries cut lengthwise
• 5 slices of provolone (sliced thin)
• 5 slices of honey ham (sliced thin)
• 10 pretzel chips or crackers

Caprese Salad and Yogurt Bento Box

Mix up the ham and cheese roll lunch by swapping the cottage cheese and strawberries for Greek yogurt and kiwis and the pretzels for mandarin oranges, a mini Caprese salad with cherry tomatoes and small mozzarella balls, and a treat of chocolate chips.

Cream Cheese and Lox

Lox and Cream Cheese Bento Box

Smoked fish and cream cheese were easy to find in our local supermarket, so we whipped up this lunch based on the breakfast favorite.

Ingredients

• 3 strawberries sliced lengthwise
• 2 ounces of smoked lox
• 10 everything flavored pretzel chips or crackers
• 2 ounces cream cheese
• Cucumber, sliced
• 20 capers

Charcuterie Spread

• Cucumber, sliced
• Pepperoni or hard salami, sliced
• Swiss cheese, cut in 1” cubes
