Ingredients
2 (16-ounce) blocks mozzarella cheese, cut in half horizontally
1 cup plain bread crumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 cup flour
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
Preparation
01Using a 4-inch cooker cutter, cut mozzarella halves into circles. Using a 1/2-inch cookie cutter, cut the center out of each mozzarella circle to form a donut shape. Transfer mozzarella circles to parchment paper-lined baking sheet and cover with plastic wrap. Freeze until firm, about 1 hour
02Combine bread crumbs, Parmesan and Italian seasoning in small bowl. Place flour and eggs in 2 separate small bowls. Dredge cheese in flour, shaking off any excess, then into eggs and then into bread crumbs.
03Coat air fryer basket with butter cooking spray and preheat to 400°F. Working in batches, cook mozzarella until golden brown, flipping halfway though, about 6 to 9 minutes. Repeat with remaining mozzarella.
04Meanwhile, cook marinara sauce in small saucepan over low heat until fully heated
through. Keep hot until ready to use.
05Garnish mozzarella with basil. Serve with marinara sauce and enjoy.
