2 cups (8 ounces) shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
1/4 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
01Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
02Cook macaroni according to package directions, but drain pasta 1 to 2 minutes earlier than package cooking time. Set aside.
03In a saucepan or pot over medium heat, add milk, flour, and salt. Whisk well and bring to a simmer. Cook, stirring, for 3 minutes.
04Mix the two cheeses together in a bowl and place 1 1/2 cups of the cheese into the pot. Add macaroni into the pot. Mix well and pour into a 9x13 baking dish. Sprinkle breadcrumbs and remaining cheese over the dish then pour butter over evenly.
05Bake for 5 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool at least 10 minutes prior to serving.
