1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup dark brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup old fashioned whole rolled oats

One 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk

1/2 cup Nutella

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


01Preheat the oven to 350 F, spray over-safe 10-inch cast iron skillet with cooking spray; set aside.
02In a large bowl cream together butter and both types of sugar until light.
03Beat in egg and vanilla until very smooth.
04In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt.
05Stir flour mixture into the butter mixture.
06Pour less than three quarters of the dough into the skillet, reserving about 1 1/4 cups to be crumbled on at the end; set skillet and large mixing bowl with reserved dough aside.
07In a small bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and Nutella and stir until smooth. Pour mixture over the dough in the skillet.
08Evenly spread the chocolate chips over the top.
09Drop tablespoon-sized chunks of the reserved dough into the skillet, dispersing them uniformly over the top.
10Bake for about 25 minutes, or until edges begin to crisp up and most of the top surface of the cookie is set.
