Ingredients for Cheddar Biscuits

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

3/4 cup milk

1 egg

1/3 cup butter, melted and cooled

Ingredients for Topping

2 tablespoons salted butter, melted

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Preparation

01Preheat the oven to 400 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and parsley.
03In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
04Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Using a rubber spatula, gently stir to just combine. The dough will be sticky.
05Divide the dough into 8 mounds about 2 inches apart on the baking sheet. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes, until golden brown on top.
06For the topping: While the biscuits are baking, in a small bowl, mix together the butter, parsley, and garlic powder.
07Remove the biscuits from the oven and use a pastry brush to brush on the toppings. Return pan to the oven for an additional 3 to 5 minutes or until the biscuits have lightly browned.
