2 1/2 cups sweet cherries, pitted, cut into quarters, divided
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice 3
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 cups whole milk
Preparation
01In a food processor, combine 2 cups of cherries, lemon juice, and sugar. Add milk to food processor and combine until liquefied and smooth.
02Pour the ice cream mixture and the remaining 1/2 cup cherries into an ice cream machine and freeze following manufacturer’s instructions.
Note:
If you want the gelato to be richer, substitute 1/2 cup of heavy cream for 1/2 cup of the milk.
