About Sweet Milk Snowman Cookies

Bring a little winter magic to your holiday baking with these Sweet Milk Snowman Cookies, soft, sweet, and shaped like cheerful snowmen. With a tender, melt-in-your-mouth base and a dusting of sweet snow-white icing, they’re as delightful to look at as they are to eat. Perfect for cozy cookie exchanges, festive gatherings, or a snowy-day treat with a cup of cocoa.

Ingredients

3 1/2 sticks of butter, room temperature

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

4 cups and 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

Cornstarch

Icing (to use as paste)

White fondant (for face)

Orange fondant (for nose)

Turquoise, purple, yellow fondant or any 3 colors of choice (for hats)

Black cookie icing (for nose and mouth)

Preparation

01Preheat the oven to 330 F. Line 3-4 baking sheets with parchment paper or make them in batches.
02In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment or a large mixing bowl using a mixer, mix the butter, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Will take about 3 minutes.
03Add the condensed milk and mix well. Sift in the flour and baking powder, mixing to combine.
04Use a small scoop or tablespoon, scoop small balls of dough that are 1.5 inches onto the prepared baking sheet. Roll each into a ball between your hands and arrange evenly on the baking sheet.
05Slightly press the dough balls to flatten the top just before baking.
06Bake the cookies for 14-15 minutes, until set and starting to lightly brown around the edges.
07The cookies completely cooled before applying fondant,
08Lightly dust your surface with cornstarch or powdered sugar so the fondant doesn’t stick.
09To make the face, roll out the white fondant to be 2–3 mm thick. Using a small round cookie cutter, cut small circles to match your cookie size.
10Lightly brush the top of each cookie with a small amount of icing and spread it out so it’s used as the adhesive and gently press the white fondant circle onto each cookie so it sticks smoothly.
11To make the nose and hats, roll out the colored fondant and get as creative as you like. Use the image in this recipe as inspiration. Use icing to be the adhesive for these pieces as well.
12Use the black cookie icing for the eyes and mouth of the snowman.
