Strawberry Shortcake

1/2 cup butter, softened

1 cup sugar

2 eggs, beaten

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon milk

Sliced strawberries, or other berries of your choice

Whipped cream, to taste


01Preheat the oven to 350°F. Coat a 9x9 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
02In a large bowl, with an electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugar. Add beaten eggs and combine with the butter and sugar mixture. Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt.
03With a spatula, fold in milk until well combined.
04Pour mixture into the baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes, until golden brown.
05Once cooled, cut into squares and top with strawberries and whipped cream.
