Cinnamon Sugar Waffles with Cream Cheese Dip

Ingredients for Waffle Batter

2 cups all-purpose flour

3 tablespoons granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

4 teaspoons baking powder

1 tablespoon cinnamon

2 eggs

1 1/2 cups milk

1/2 cup butter (melted)

1 teaspoon vanilla

Ingredients for Cinnamon Sugar Topping

3/4 cup sugar

3 tablespoons cinnamon

1/2 cup butter (melted)

Ingredients for Cream Cheese Dip

4 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)

1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup

Milk (as needed) to thin

Preparation

01Whisk the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
02In a medium sized bowl, beat the eggs and stir in the milk, butter, and vanilla.
03Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Stir until combined and there are no flour streaks.
04Prep the cinnamon sugar topping. In a shallow bowl mix together the sugar and cinnamon. Melt the butter.
05Preheat the waffle iron and spray with non-stick cooking spray.
06Spoon the batter onto the waffle iron and bake until the waffles are golden in color and crispy. As soon as the waffles are done, brush each with butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
07Make the cream cheese dip. Whisk together cream cheese and maple syrup. Add milk to thin to desired consistency.
08Serve warm with cream cheese dip.
