Ingredients

2 cups milk

1/4 cup water

1 medium cinnamon stick

6 small cloves

1/2 cup quick oats

1-inch lime rind (outer green skin of lime)

1 pinch salt (optional)

1 tablespoon sugar (or more to taste)

Preparation

01In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, water, cinnamon stick, and cloves.
02Bring to a boil, stirring often. Reduce heat until liquid is simmering and add oats, lime rind, and salt, if using.
03Cook until oats are soft, approximately 8 minutes. Remove from heat and divide between 2 bowls.
04Add sugar to taste.
